What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Sites use them for many reasons — keeping you logged in, remembering preferences, or tracking you across the web for advertising. This page explains what Sumeru does and doesn't do.
What this site does
- No marketing cookies. We don't set advertising tracking cookies. There is no Google Ads pixel, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no retargeting cookie. Visiting this site is not tracked across the web.
- No analytics cookies. We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate page-view counts. Plausible is cookie-less by design — it hashes a daily salt + your IP + user-agent to produce an anonymous fingerprint that resets every 24 hours. No personal data, no cookies, no cross-site tracking. EU-hosted (Germany).
- Functional cookies for the customer app. When you sign in to the customer-facing application at
commerceos.sumeru.systems(not this marketing site), we use essential session cookies to keep you signed in. These are not used for tracking and cannot be disabled while you're authenticated.
What our customers' end-users may encounter
If you visit a Shopify store powered by Sumeru, the merchant may have enabled a server-side pixel to attribute orders. This is a backend integration — there is no client-side tracking cookie set by Sumeru. Any first-party Shopify session cookies are set by Shopify, not by Sumeru, and are governed by Shopify's policies.
Browser controls
You can block cookies entirely through your browser settings — instructions for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Edge. Blocking cookies will not affect your experience of this marketing site (because it sets no cookies). Blocking cookies on the customer app will prevent you from signing in.
"Do Not Track" + Global Privacy Control
This site honours both DNT and GPC signals — though for this site they make no practical difference, since we set no tracking cookies regardless.
Updates to this policy
If we ever add tracking cookies (we don't plan to), this page will reflect that change and we'll surface a banner on first visit. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is authoritative.
